The Collective Behavior of Piezoelectric Walking Microrobots: Experimental Results
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents some experimental results concerning the collective behavior of a colony of PLIF (Piezo Light Intelligent Flea) microrobots. An introduction to the peculiarities of piezoelectric PLIF microrobots is given, and then the results of co-operation by three robots are illustrated in both simulation and a real application. From the results it emerges that the strategy implemented is robust to both external disturbances and faults in some robots.

3d Printing for Prototypes of Thin-film Pzt/polymer Microstructures
This work explores the viability of using 3D printing as a rapid-prototyping technique for microrobotic appendages made from thin-film PZT/polymer materials. First, the possibility of integrating piezoelectric materials into millimeter-scale (meso-scale) polymer melt-printed structures was investigated. Next, one specific robot limb geometry was chosen as a basis to compare structural modeling ...

1 . I N T R O D U C T I O N Microrobotics researches require to operate on autonomous devices with simple design and limited costs and energy consumption, even if this fact limits the possible tasks of each single robot. In the last few years the interest in micro mechatronic systems is increasing and several different kind of microrobots have been designed [1], [2],[3]. Applications of these r...
متن کاملGeneration of Desired Emergent Behavior in Swarm of Micro-Robots
Emergent behavior of swarm-like-systems results from interactions among system’s components and cannot be directly preprogrammed. This kind of behavior is very efficient, flexible and is closely related with collective (swarm-) intelligence. In the presented work we consider a derivation of local rules, creating such interactions, that lead to desired emergent behavior. As an example of collect...
متن کاملEffect of Backward Walking Training on Improves Postural Stability in Children with Down syndrome
Background Motor intervention plays an important role in reducing the disabilities of Down syndrome (DS). A lack of balance and postural control has created motor problems in DS patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the effect of backward walking on postural stability of DS patients. Materials and Methods Sixteen DS children with 8-10 age range were selected by convenience s...
متن کاملDynamics Analysis of the Steady and Transient States of a Nonlinear Piezoelectric Beam by a Finite Element Method
This paper presents a finite element formulation for the dynamics analysis of the steady and transient states of a nonlinear piezoelectric beam. A piezoelectric beam with damping is studied under harmonic excitation. A numerical method is used for this analysis. In the paper, the central difference formula of four order is used and compared with the central difference formula of two order in th...
